AFTER CARE
Hydrate hydrate hydrate! This will help push the toxins that we loosened up out of your body faster. Your body requires h2o for healthy muscle function. Your muscles feel more supple when hydrated vs brittle and unresponsive when not lubricated properly.
You may feel a little sore the eve after and in the morning depending on the work you had done. The true test of how your body handled the massage will be the next evening. Mentioning this at your next session will help you build on that going forward. How do you feel, was an area worked a little too much, or can you handle a little more pressure next time? Were there any surprise areas that were breath taking? Places you really loved. Be sure to make a note or reach out and let us know so we can continue to customize your sessions for the future.
You may feel light headed or dizzy. You may need to rest a little bit before driving home. We will give you a glass of water and time to sit in our lobby after your massage. You may be a little sore that night or the next day.
Extend the feeling. We encourage you to stretch your limbs. Go for a walk the next day to continue to lengthen and extend the benefits of your massage.
Our goals are to increase your relaxation, ease muscle tension, increase range of motion, pain management and overall longevity. Daily stretching and walking will greatly enhance your muscles health. Well Body…Sound Mind
Commonly asked Questions
Do we drape? YES. The table is dressed with high quality sheets and a light blanket. Your therapist will uncover the area that she is working on leaving the rest of the body modestly covered.
We have heated tables that can be adjusted to your preference. Hot towels are used in each session to elevate your massage.
Do I disrobe? We want you to be comfortable and able to relax easily. If you prefer to wear your undies, then do! From a therapist standpoint, we do encourage you to completely disrobe and here is why: Wearing underwear presents a barrier that the therapist then has to bump into repeatedly, stuttering the rhythm. Can we still do it? Absolutely. *If you are having sciatic issues and really need focus on low back and glutes, I highly recommend you go in the buff ( modest but effectively draped.)
Do I tip? Yes please. Gratuity is happily accepted :) and greatly appreciated.
How early should I arrive? If it is your first massage with us, we recommend 5-10 minutes early. Arriving a little early is always a good idea, it gives you time to use the bathroom and update your therapists about your body’s needs that day. 5 minutes is ideal for all appointments after that.
Parking- we are located in the back corner of a large parking lot. We are at the same end as the Hole in One restaurant right on the bike path. 30 Main St. Orleans, MA 02653 Dark brown building that looks like a house, directly to the right of Oceana.
We are in a great plaza with coffee, breakfast, shopping, and are right on the bike path. There is plenty to do while you wait for a friend while they have their massage. You can also relax in our main room.
Do I shower before? Sure if you are stinky, sweaty, or dirty. Please brush off sandy skin. Massage cream does not glide well on sweaty skin. Each room has wipes available for you to use to clean your feet before your massage.
Hair- we try our hardest to not drag of oils into the hair, but a small amount can get in while we are working the neck. Let your therapist know if you would like your scalp skipped.
Makeup- please come clean faced if possible :) It helps with the glide of the creams and oils.
Can I eat before my massage? We recommend not arriving with a full belly. You will be spending a portion of your massage face down and it may not be comfortable.
Popped tent- As professionals we consider it to be a bodily function and easily ignore the very occasional. If you are uncomfortable or embarrassed, you can always tell your therapist you prefer to remain face down to focus on your back.
What if I need to pee during my massage? No problem. Better to take a quick moment then be uncomfortable for the rest of your massage.
Farting during a massage… it happens :) There is a lot of movement during a massage and it is a natural occurrence. If you are feeling especially uncomfortable, just ask your therapist if you can try some aromatherapy or to step out of the room.
Massage therapists usually prefer to be called massage therapists. We have trained extensively for this distinction :)
As awesome as we are and as terrific as you are, we really encourage quiet during your massage. You will benefit SO much more. It allows our fingers to pick up on the little adhesions in your muscle fibers without distraction. If your form of relaxation comes with conversations (which is absolutely cool too :), please be sure to use library voices so as to not disturb other massages that may be in session.
PLEASE SILENCE YOUR PHONE! Pretty please.
